A Career with Consultus as a Live-in Nurse

A career in live-in nursing is not only rewarding, but also life changing.

As a live-in nurse, you will provide one-to-one nursing to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. You will be there to offer support to enable them to remain living as independently as possible in their own homes. Your care, companionship and expertise will be valued. As a nurse your dedication will support our clients to get the most out of life, and offer peace of mind to their families.

Consultus offers you a career to suit your lifestyle. Your availability is up to you; choose when and where you would like to work with the benefit of UK travel allowances.

You can expect to earn a basic weekly pay of £1,460 per week plus additional earnings for nights, weekends and overtime.

Every carer will have their own private room in the client's home, Wi-Fi access and, in some cases, the use of a vehicle for eligible drivers.

You will be matched carefully to your clients so the time you spend with your clients will not only benefit them, but also you.

Assignments are available now; we have a range of flexible rotas to choose from all over the UK.

Consultus Care and Nursing is founded on the vision that ‘people feel better at home’. We’re looking for like-minded live-in carers and live-in nurses, who have a passion for changing people’s lives.

If you share our drive to deliver exceptional care for clients in their own homes, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be introduced to clients by a friendly, family-led firm with over 60 years’ experience of care. Our roles are rewarding and satisfying, and you’ll be highly valued by us, the client and their family.

The Role of a Consultus Live-in Nurse

The role of a live-in nurse is to:

  • Deliver person-centred nursing to all clients, making them feel valued, happy and involved in the delivery of their care
  • Attend to the needs of our clients who have chosen to receive nursing in the comfort of their own home, rather than in a care home or hospital
  • Promote the independence and dignity of your client
  • Offer comfort and support for your client, their family representatives and work alongside health care professionals
  • Undertake light housekeeping duties, including the preparation of nutritious meals
  • Maintain care records precisely within given guidelines
  • Liaise with Nurse Coordinators and other nurses to ensure continuity of care delivered to your client
  • As you may be in a lone working environment you must ensure that the office is kept informed of any significant changes in the clients' health and well-being
  • Adopt a flexible approach to meet the clients' requirements; it may be necessary for you to undertake additional duties within your capabilities
  • Undertake all mandatory training required by Consultus for your position as a live-in nurse

How long would my placements be?

Live-in nursing placements usually range from four to 14 days

What sort of support will I have?

At Consultus, we provide our live-in nurses with 24-hour support from our experienced Nurse Coordinators who are available to offer you further assistance and guidance.

Will I be able to return to the same clients?

Yes, many of our clients have favourite regular nurses and vice-versa. We try to arrange a rota of nurses wherever possible so you may be able to return to a small number of clients on a regular basis.
