Costs of Live-In Nursing Care

When considering live-in nursing for you or a loved one, understanding the cost and value is essential. At Consultus Care and Nursing, we help you to understand the costs involved and the exceptional benefits that our comprehensive live-in nursing service offers.

We are committed to transparent pricing for live-in nursing care at home. The weekly cost of care is dependent on the specific level of support required, and is subject to a comprehensive assessment of your needs.

Live-in nursing is an ideal service for those who have a healthcare need and require support around-the-clock, whilst allowing you to stay in the comfort of your own home. If you are living with a specialist condition, such as dementia or Parkinson’s, or require support after a stroke, cancer diagnosis, or for palliative care, live-in nursing care can enhance your health outcomes and significantly improve your overall quality of life.

At Consultus, we believe that live-in nursing is a better solution for the care needs of you or your loved ones when compared to a disruptive move to a nursing home - it is far more comforting and less disruptive, but it can also be a more affordable option and offers a more personal service.

We believe our fees are very competitive and there are no hidden live-in nursing costs. Our nursing rates are based on a fixed weekly fee or pro-rata per day with a minimum booking period of four days.

Our Live-In Nursing cost process

At Consultus Care and Nursing, our process for live-in nursing care at home begins with a comprehensive assessment of your needs conducted by our Nursing Consultant in collaboration with other healthcare professionals if required.

Our assessment is holistic, taking into consideration not only your healthcare and support needs, but your personal preferences and lifestyle. All our Nursing Co-ordinators are fully qualified registered nurses and are well placed to match you with a nurse that will meet your needs. Based on this information, we provide a detailed quotation for a live-in nursing care package that meets your individual requirements.

How can Live-in Nursing be funded?

In the UK, healthcare is provided free at the point of delivery. If you receive live-in care at home due to an identified healthcare need, you may be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding. This funding is managed and provided by your local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and covers the treatment, management, or prevention of diseases, illnesses, injuries, or disabilities, as well as aftercare for those living with these conditions.

NHS Continuing Healthcare is not means-tested, and if you qualify, the funding can be used to support live-in nursing care. However, the amount of funding available will depend not only on your specific healthcare needs but also on the location of your CCG, as this can affect the availability of this funding.

Other ways to fund the cost of Live-In Nursing Care

Consultus Nurses can be funded privately, by private health insurance. Private health insurance may include part or full payment of costs - your insurance company will provide advice on what they offer.

My nurse, Mae, was excellent in every respect, both in her nursing and as a companion. She was kind and considerate and thought ahead to everything I might need. Mae always managed to go the extra mile!

Helena, July 2024

We honestly can’t thank you enough for sending Renee to help to look after my mum. She arrived to find she had deteriorated in health. Within a couple of hours, Renee had a hospital bed delivered, had spoken to nurses, doctors, requested additional medication, the list goes on. She was, quite simply, amazing. My family and I felt so comforted by the fact Renee knew exactly what she was doing and did so in a kind manner, constantly keeping us updated. Sadly, in the few days that Renee was with us, my mum passed away, but Renee understood the situation and helped us all through it. She clearly is one of life’s special people and we felt so very lucky that you sent her to us.

Christophe, June 2024

Having Renee there was a massive weight off our minds as our mother was resistant to care or suggestions. We realised Renee could manage / persuade our mother to help guide her on the road to recovery (not that she’s fully recovered, but she’s now heading in the right direction!)
