Our Webinar Series Is Underway

More than 80 people joined Consultus Care and Nursing's first Conversations That Matter webinar, Understanding Dementia – How to Support Someone You Love, highlighting the growing need for practical, expert guidance for families caring for older loved ones.

Hosted by leading dementia campaigner, consultant and author Beth Britton, and Consultus’ own Marketing Manager, Andy Wilson, the free online session gave attendees the opportunity to learn from both Beth's professional expertise and her deeply personal experience of supporting her own father throughout his journey with dementia. Her honest reflections, combined with practical advice, resonated with families across the UK who are navigating the challenges of caring for someone living with the condition.

The webinar concluded with a live Q&A, where attendees submitted a wide range of thoughtful questions, demonstrating just how valuable it can be for families to access trusted experts in an open and supportive environment.

Alongside practical advice for day-to-day life, Beth also shared a wealth of organisations, resources and support services that families can access beyond the webinar itself. These resources, together with the full webinar recording, are now available free of charge on our Past Webinars page, ensuring anyone who was unable to attend can still benefit from the discussion.

The dementia webinar marked the beginning of Conversations That Matter, our free monthly webinar series designed to help families feel more informed and confident when supporting older loved ones at home. Each session brings together respected professionals to provide practical advice on some of the most common questions families face.

Physiotherapist Frances Lamberth will share practical advice on reducing fall risks, improving confidence and mobility, recognising early warning signs, and helping older people remain independent at home for longer.

Wednesday 2 September | 6:30pm
Financial adviser Toby Winyard will explain the options available for funding later life care, helping families better understand costs, planning ahead and making informed financial decisions.

Legal and Estate Planning for Later Life
Wednesday 7 October | 6:30pm
Solicitor Andrea Kershaw from Thackray Williams will discuss Lasting Powers of Attorney, wills, estate planning and the legal considerations that families often overlook until it's too late.
