OUR Live-In care - introductory team
Our introductory service team is comprised of highly motivated and committed Care Consultants and a brilliant Central Support team of administrators.
Our Care Consultants are chosen not only for their relevant background experience, but also for their ability to listen and respond effectively to complex and challenging situations.
Consultus fully understand that you are making some of the most important decisions of your life, the care of a family member or beloved friend in the later stages of their lives can be difficult. We have these conversations daily and we know how to help. We listen so we can help and we have been here before let us help you help them.

Jane

Jane joined Consultus in 2011.
Jane qualified as an Enrolled Nurse in 1984, then worked in both Accident & Emergency and Paediatrics before leaving to start a family. While raising her children, Jane was a volunteer at her local hospice.
Returning to work after a break of 16 years, Jane joined Consultus in 2011.
Having taken on the role of Team Manager for the Live-In Care - Introductory department in 2017, Jane manages a team of 10 Care Consultants
Jane is responsible and courteous, with a self-disciplined and nurturing manner.
When Jane has time away from the office, she enjoys taking short breaks abroad and in the UK, as well as walking and playing tennis.

Carolyn

Carolyn joined Consultus in 2014
After completing a BA (Hons) Degree in Humanities in 1997, Carolyn worked for 12 years within training, business development and recruitment, advising London-based companies and organisations on their staff needs and recruitment requirements. In addition, Carolyn worked as a community carer for 18 months and passionately believes in care at home. An approachable, thoughtful and caring consultant, Carolyn builds valuable relationships with clients and carers alike.
"Outside of work I enjoy running with friends and I have used this to generate much-needed charity funds for the local hospice and live-in nursing care for children. My biggest achievement has been running the London Marathon in 2019"

Louise joined Consultus in 2011
Louise grew up in Yorkshire and, after graduating from Leeds in Business Studies and Modern Languages, began her career as cabin crew for Japan Airlines, discovering a passion for travel and the ability to evacuate a plane in Japanese! Then followed a long career in recruitment, HR and sales administration whilst raising her family in Kent.
Louise joined Consultus in 2011 and still enjoys the busy and often unpredictable world of the Live-In Care - Introductory department. She has a versatile approach to the ever-changing role of Care Consultant, supporting new and existing clients and nurturing carers through their Consultus journey. Louise is always happy to offer a listening ear.

Tracy joined Consultus in 2007
With 12 years' experience in the recruitment industry and marketing, Tracy is fully aware of both the personal support and commitment required to provide a successful service. Tracy's strong communication and people skills were developed whilst working as a mediator in local authority and private neighbourhood disputes for the West Kent Mediation Service.

Cheryl

Following her degree in Natural Sciences and PGCE, Cheryl came to Kent to teach Biology.
After a career break to be a full-time mum to her three children, Cheryl began work for a literacy intervention company, first delivering the programme in local schools and then training school staff, in the South East and around the UK, in client schools.
Her desire to work more locally, using the customer service and quality assurance skills acquired in her role, led her to Consultus, where she loves being part of a friendly, supportive team.
In her spare time, Cheryl loves coffee with friends, walking, volunteering through church and taking the odd pottery course.

Emma

Emma joined Consultus in 2013
With a BA in Archaeology and an MsC in Marketing and Management, Emma started her career in the advertising industry, latterly as an Associate Director for one of London’s top independent agencies. She then had a career change as a Recruitment Consultant heading up Stopgap Directors – talent searching and placing Directors into London marketing agencies. After the arrival of her two children and a move from London to Tunbridge Wells, Emma started her career with Consultus in 2013.
Emma puts client servicing and a high attention to detail at the top of her priorities. She enjoys forming close working relationships with carers too.
Out of work, Emma has a love of interior design and travel and likes nothing more than having her nose in a good book. Her continued love of archaeology has seen her taking her children to Pompei, the Coliseum, the prehistoric caves at Lascaux in France and Stonehenge amongst many other places!

Vicki

Vicki joined Consultus in 2019
Vicki began her career as a Claims Advisor with a large private medical insurance company and worked her way up to the position of Team Manager.
Whilst her children were young, Vicki worked for a First Aid Training company and was involved in organising nationwide training events for corporate retail clients. Following this, she returned to healthcare insurance where she worked as an Account Manager for corporate clients in the Channel Islands for over 12 years.
In 2017 Vicki’s career changed direction when she took up a temporary position with a national children’s charity which she found particularly rewarding. Keen to continue working in a position where she could help make a difference to the lives of others, Vicki applied for the role of Care Consultant with Consultus as she felt it was just what she was looking for.

Stephanie

Steph was born in Liverpool, and went on to graduate from Salford University with a BSc Sociology degree. Steph worked in various admin roles including Ward admin / PA for a Consultant in Alder Hey Childrens Hospital.
Following this, Steph went on to gain a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at Kings College London and worked as a Mental Health Nurse for acute admissions. She worked her way up to the role of Acting Ward Manager before taking a career break to care for her children. Steph then decided to return to her studies and gain a Masters in Human Resources at Canterbury Uni.
Steph came to Consultus through recommendation and has remained working here since.

Jess joined Consultus in 2022
Jess was born in Guernsey in the Channel Islands. She comes from a background in hospitality, which led her to realise she thrives in an environment whose focus is to deliver excellent customer service. She recently joined Consultus having previously worked as a Dedicated Maternity Case Manager and Claims expert within private medical insurance for 3 years prior.
In her spare time, Jess enjoys walking her family dog, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family.

Nicky

Nicky joined Consultus in 2022
Nicky has 11 years of work experience as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school. She also worked with SEN children which she found really rewarding.
In more recent years, Nicky has worked in various customer service / administration roles, including being part of a team that delivered apprenticeships in a variety of different sectors.
"Over the last couple of years, I have been learning to sail which has been a great opportunity although challenging at times! At weekends I enjoy meeting with friends for walks in the countryside."

Jo has 10 years of experience working with SEN children and young adults. She is NVQ level 3 qualified in working with children and young adults.
"I have worked for an agency providing care and worked for disabled children’s charities during the school holidays. I also have a sales and recruitment background. My interests are the gym and long coastal walks"

Elly

Elly joined Consultus in 2012
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Music from Southampton University in 1994, Elly worked in the hospitality industry for two years before starting at Talking Newspapers as a sound engineer and editor, recording and dictating tapes of newspapers and magazines for the blind. She then used her excellent communication skills for many years working in the print industry as a customer service team leader, managing staff dealing with accounts from music and recording companies.
Before joining Consultus in 2012, Elly was the office manager in a multi-modality diagnostic centre. Elly has high standards, is sensitive and conscientious, with a calm and measured approach to others. Outside work Elly enjoys spending time (preferably on long walks) with family, friends, and her beloved dog.

Bex joined Consultus in 2021
Beginning her career in multiple retail environments, Bex found a passion for customer service. After finishing A Levels, especially enjoying Media & Musical Theatre, Bex worked as a Claims Advisor for a large corporate Health Insurance before moving up to the Senior Position assisting with ad-hoc queries from staff and handling complaints from customers. She then moved on to become an Account Co-Ordinator for Large Corporate companies and gained a wealth of knowledge while improving her administration skills.
Bex performs administrative tasks and marketing duties including creating & monitoring social media posts. She enjoys bringing the teams together at Consultus to build on the family ethos, as well as supporting Care Consultants with their daily responsibilities.
In her spare time, Bex enjoys painting by numbers, spending time with her dogs Winston & Dude, and seeing drag queens.

Maggie

Maggie joined Consultus in 2004
Maggie began her career as a director’s PA in a London public relations firm in Fleet Street and continued to work in the city for 10 years as a secretary in legal administration for travel companies and in entertainment law.
Changing direction, Maggie retrained for 3-years as a jewellery designer at the Kent Institute of Art & Design in Rochester, taking a 10-year career break to marry and bring up her family, during which she worked part-time as an educational bookseller and primary school helper, before returning to the office environment and joining Consultus as a team secretary.
Maggie’s time at Consultus has been varied from typing booking letters to helping produce the company’s in-house magazine, The Carer Times for many years, to dabbling in marketing and social media, and recently joining the admin team to support the Care Consultants, keep office supplies topped up and helping book carers into our wonderful Carer Houses.

Michelle joined Consultus in 2015
Michelle has worked as an administrator and secretary in a variety of different sectors, including accountancy, education and financial services.
Michelle joined Consultus in October 2015 as an audio secretary and now works in Central Admin Support.

April joined Consultus in 2010
April began her career working in Local Government where she gained secretarial experience, before moving on to work in London as a Legal Secretary. She has also worked in other sectors, including insurance, accountancy and financial management.
In 2010, April joined Consultus in the position of audio secretary which she undertook for several years.
April now works with the Central Support Team providing support to the Care Consultants and undertaking general administration tasks for the company.
