looking after your mental health & wellbeing

There can be many words to describe the past year; unprecedented, difficult, uncertain and sadly finding a positive one can be tricky. Life as we know it has been turned on its head, so it’s no wonder that some of us may not be feeling quite ourselves.
It has never been more important to make time to look after our mental health than now, and finding new ways of connecting with those we love and adapting our lives to ensure we still keep doing the things that make us smile is paramount!
So, we have pulled together some great resources that you can access anywhere and at anytime!

Care Workforce App

This is a great app you can use on the go, which has been set up by the Department of Health and Social Care especially for carers on the front line! It includes tons of information and advice all in one digital hub. You can even swap ideas and learnings with colleagues across the country, which is always a great way to keep learning new skills too!

Set up by the NHS the Every Mind Matters campaign brings together expert advice and practical tips to help you look after your mental health and wellbeing. You can also get your own ‘Mind Plan by answering 5 quick questions on their site, which has been tailored for the Covid outbreak.

Headspace is a great tool, that can be downloaded as an app but is now also available on Netflix and gives a very easy guide to Meditation. So, take a breath and give some time back to you!

The team at Skills for Care have brought together a variety of resources to help with your wellbeing and mental health, but have also focused on the PERSON approach. Pause, Escape, Reflect, Sense Check, Opportunity for change and Next Steps. Find out more here about how this tool can help you during your day.
