Managed Care Department
Our Managed Care Department is a fully managed model where a dedicated care consultant will take full responsibility for every aspect of you and your loved one’s care.
Our professional and experienced live-in carers are on hand round the clock, to offer friendship and support, which enables you or your loved one to have an enriched quality of life in your own familiar surroundings.
Our fully managed service, which is available presently in the South of England and Hampshire, is suitable for those clients who live a great distance from their families and - in many instances - different time zones. Consultus will professionally manage each aspect of care; everything from care plans and reviews, regular communication with healthcare professionals and nurses, and diary management.
Our live-in carers are available to look after individual clients or couples, in short-term or long-term bookings where continuity of care is required. Our clients may be privately funded individuals who prefer to receive live-in care in the comfort of their own home, or healthcare providers - such as the Continuing Health teams - that arrange Consultus live-in care on behalf of their patients.
The Consultus Managed Care Department service regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our latest report, which stated we were a good care provider, can be found here.
One of our Care Consultants will visit you in your home and carry out a detailed Care Needs Assessment before the service begins, which may include communication with your next of kin, your GP, District Nurse, other healthcare professionals or anyone else involved in your care.
The Care Consultant will undertake a Risk Assessment as required by law. From their observations, and with your cooperation and approval, they will write a personalised plan of care.
During a booking
The Care Consultant will regularly oversee the carers’ work and we will continuously monitor and review a client’s needs, working closely with families, GPs, district nurses and other healthcare professionals, as required. In accordance with national care standards, we monitor staff performance through a variety of quality assurance procedures.

- ask you to provide us with regular constructive feedback about our carers and Consultus Managed Care Department Consultants
- conducting regular supervision visits to your home to observe the carer’s work
- carry out annual written satisfaction surveys with clients and carers
- conduct annual internal audits to ensure compliance with National Care Standards
Our regulatory body, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), also takes steps to ensure the quality of our service and you may be contacted by them, as part of their review of our organisation.
We select, reference, DBS check and train carers. Carers receive payment directly from Consultus, who is responsible for deducting tax and National Insurance contributions adding their holiday pay pension according to statutory PAYE entailments.
