Care at Home Manager
Tara joined Consultus in 2007
Having worked in recruitment and customer relations for 15 years, Tara had already developed excellent communication and liaison skills before joining Consultus. (In another stage of her career, she was also selected to represent Great Britain as a member of the equestrian team). With her previous experience and her 12 years’ with the Company, Tara was appointed as the Care at Home Manager in July 2019 and has ‘hit the ground running’, quickly getting to grips in her role as Manager of an extremely busy and expanding Department.

Jane joined Consultus in 2011
Jane qualified as an enrolled nurse in 1984, working within both accident and emergency and paediatric nursing. She is approachable, responsible, courteous and has a self-disciplined and nurturing style, enabling her to build strong relationships with both clients and carers. She has been substantially involved as a volunteer for various organisations, including her local hospice. Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, playing tennis and travelling.
Bernadette joined Consultus in 2005
Tracy joined Consultus in 2007
Prior to joining Consultus, Tracy spent 12 years working within recruitment and marketing. Her communication skills were developed further when she worked as a mediator for the local authority and also in private neighbourhood disputes for the West Kent Mediation Service.
With her previous experience and in the 12 years she has been with Consultus, Tracy is recognised as a great listener, fully aware of both the personal support and commitment required to provide a successful service to those in need.
Patricia joined Consultus in 2008
Patricia has had many years working in the caring profession, including roles within the surgical, medical and psychiatric, as well as the community sectors, so caring for others and having their best interests at heart, has always been her priority. Patricia is a very calm, softly spoken and quietly confident person, whose accumulated years of helping others, together with her office administration skills, have given her exceptional people skills.
Patricia has also run her own personal therapy business for a number of years.
VERYAN SHARP FIRP
Veryan joined Consultus in 2008
Before joining Consultus, Veryan spent 20 years as a recruitment consultant for an established company in central London, specialising mainly in marketing and public relations. During the 13 years she has been with Consultus, Veryan’s strong communication skills have served her well and together with her positive attitude and a great sense of humour, she is a vital member of the team.
Louise joined Consultus in 2011
With a diploma in modern languages and business studies, Louise originally worked for Japan Airlines for a number of years. She then began her career in commercial recruitment and in HR, working within the NHS on various projects. With a young family, Louise returned to work more flexibly in recruitment, sales and marketing. Now in her 9th year with Consultus, Louise has a very positive and perceptive approach to her work. Her initiative and attention to detail have allowed her to develop and build strong client relationships.
Emma joined Consultus in 2013
After completing a postgraduate MSc in marketing and management in 1993, Emma spent 11 years working for four of London’s ‘top ten’ advertising agencies, rising to the level of associate director. Since 2004, Emma has worked in recruitment as well as taking some time out for maternity breaks.
Now in her seventh year with Consultus, Emma is conscientious, has a meticulous approach to her work and is a great asset to the team.
Sue joined Consultus in 1991
Sue qualified as a registered nurse at Guy’s Hospital, London, in 1969 and is now our longest serving Care Consultant. She is well respected by all her colleagues for the knowledge and experience she has acquired during her 28 years with the Company.
Before joining Consultus, Sue lived overseas for 10 years in the USA, Brazil and Spain.
Since her nursing days, Sue has continued to give years of support to the elderly and those in need and is still the kind, unassuming and articulate person who qualified as a nurse all those years ago.
Julia joined Consultus in 2009
Julia originally graduated from Leicester University with a BSc in Psychology and Biology and since then has worked within recruitment and staff training at all levels, including senior management. Being so responsive and highly sensitive to the feelings of others, has enabled Julia to be completely approachable to those in need. Julia is a very upbeat member of the team.
Julia left the UK in 2015 to live in Saudi Arabia for two years with her husband. In 2017, her former colleagues at Consultus were delighted to welcome her back.
Stephanie joined Consultus in 2018
Stephanie has a BSc in Sociology and a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing. She has also worked for eight years as a mental health nurse in Kent and Liverpool. Although Stephanie is one of our newer Consultants, her qualifications and past experience have enabled her to be very well placed for her work as a Care Consultant and she has settled quickly into the team.
More recently, Stephanie has also completed an MSc in Human Resources.
Julia joined Consultus in 2018
Julia gained a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction. She has worked in Recruitment, Training and HR, and was a Management Consultant in London before moving to a large firm in the USA. She was first based in San Francisco and then relocated to New York, but travelled all over the USA working on HR-related projects.
At Consultus Care and Nursing, Julia now works primarily with new clients. She is recognised for her warm and empathetic approach and enjoys taking the time to gain a thorough understanding of clients’ individual needs and requirements.
Cheryl joined Consultus in 2018
Having studied Natural Sciences, followed by a PGCE at Cambridge University, Cheryl taught Biology and Science at local Secondary schools and was also head of KS3 and KS4 Science during this time.
During a career break to be with her children, Cheryl occasionally taught part-time to ‘keep her hand in’ and also tutored privately.
Following this, Cheryl worked for a national literacy company delivering intensive training to mainstream students whose literacy skills were holding them back. As lead trainer she was also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with client schools, as well as delivering initial training and quality assurance of contract and licence school staff delivering the programme in the South East. She was also a representative for the company at national educational events.
Now based in Tonbridge and having heard of Consultus, Cheryl applied for the position of Care Consultant and with her extensive customer service skills, she’s a welcome addition to the team and always such a cheery member of staff.
Carolyn joined Consultus in May 2020
Fiona started her career as a departmental manager for a well-known British home design and furnishing company, retraining as an Ofsted childcare provider when her children came along, which was a great decision as it enabled her to work from home whilst caring for the family. At this time, she also set up and ran her own celebration cake business.
Fiona later made a return to retail as a sales manager, however, with gruelling hours she moved over to sales administration, working for a company making mental health products.
With time in 2020 to rethink her next move, and eager for a new challenge, Fiona applied to join Consultus and in her own words she ‘is loving the work and being part of an amazing team’. The job is everything she hoped it would be – dealing with hardworking, committed carers from all walks of life, with the opportunity to get to know and help vulnerable clients and their families.
Carolyn joined Consultus in 2014
After completing a BA honours degree in humanities in 1997, Carolyn has worked for 12 years within training, business development and recruitment, advising London-based companies and organisations on their staff needs and recruitment requirements. In addition, Carolyn has worked for 18 months as a community carer and believes passionately in care at home. An approachable, thoughtful and caring consultant, Carolyn builds valuable relationships with clients and carers alike.
