‘Skills for Care Accolade’ Awards 2018
The Accolade Awards, reward adult social care organisations who deliver high quality care.
The Consultus Care Training Centre was delighted to have been chosen as one of three finalists for the ‘Best Endorsed Provider of Learning and Development’ category, of the 2018 Skills for Care Accolade Awards.
Following a rigorous application process and a visit from a representative from Skills for Care in November 2017, Consultus Care Training Centre was thrilled to have been chosen as a finalist at these prestigious Awards, for the second year running.
After two months of preparation, the Training Team arrived at the ILEC Conference Centre in Earls Court, on Thursday 1 March. At 6.30pm, the Training team made their way to the drinks reception where they met with Peter Seldon, Consultus CEO, who was presenting an award in another category.
The team were also met by the Awards organiser, who was 'extremely excited about the compère for the evening'. The team soon found out it was to be Anton du Beke, of Strictly Come Dancing fame. "Anton was charming," Training Centre Manager, Susan Antenbring told us. "He took the time to chat with us all and take photos. He was very excited to hear that Consultus are based near the place in which he grew up, just outside Sevenoaks."
Following a three course meal, the Awards ceremony began. The atmosphere was incredible and the trainers cheered on Peter when he presented the award for ‘Most Effective Approach to Integrated New Models of Care’ category - which was sponsored by Consultus. With growing anticipation the winner of ‘Best Endorsed Provider of Learning and Development’ was announced. "Unfortunately, it was not to be our year," Susan continued. The winners were The National Activity Providers Association. "Despite our disappointment, we had a wonderful evening. Anton was a marvellous host; very funny and engaging, and we had a fantastic time dancing the night away."
Susan Antenbring finished: “I am so proud of my team; to have been chosen as a finalist out of 33 nominations, and for the second year running is an amazing achievement. A huge congratulations to everyone!”
