Our Carer Selection Process
Once we have received your initial enquiry, our Recruitment Team will contact you to discuss your skills and experience. Having spoken with you, we will send you an online application form to complete. We will be talking to you while you complete your application to make sure we have all the information we need about you, including your last 10 years' work history and details for us to apply for two written and two verbal references. You will also need to complete a DBS application, as part of the recruitment process.
From there, we will book you on to our four-day induction training programme, based in Tonbridge, Kent which ensures that you receive the highest level of training to confidently care for your clients. Your first day of Induction training will include a welcome from our Head of Recruitment, Sara Taylor, where you will discover the ethos of Consultus and what it is like to become a live-in carer through Consultus.
We require a deposit from you of £50 for your induction training, which will be refunded to you after the completion of 42 days’ work which equals to 3 x 2 weeks bookings. On successful completion of your 3 bookings you will be awarded the Consultus Certificate, which is mapped, where relevant, to the National Occupational Standards.
We have Carer House accommodation available to you, close to our Head Office, where you can stay for the duration of your training, and longer if you need it. Our Carer Houses offer spacious shared rooms; a lovely home-from-home environment with breakfast included at a cost of £36 per night. Find out more here.
