New qualifications

The Consultus Care Training Centre has two new qualifications, available from February 2019.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Awareness of End of Life Care
With the right knowledge, understanding and approach, caring for someone at the end of their life can be one of the most rewarding experiences a carer can have.

To undertake this BTEC qualification, carers attend our half-day End of Life Care course to gain awareness and comprehension of the key elements of end of life care and develop knowledge and skills by completing three workbooks in their own time. These are completed using a combination of knowledge gained during the half-day course and further research or reading to assist them. Completed workbooks are assessed and verified by our Training team.

Cost £120 (includes a £54 fee to Pearson for registration and certification) and takes 4-6 months to complete.

Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Dementia

The Certificate is a step up from the BTEC Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia, and is aimed at those who are already working in care roles looking after individuals with dementia. Like the BTEC Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia, the Certificate delivers a solid awareness of dementia care issues, but it also provides an opportunity for learners to have their competency assessed through workplace observation.

The Certificate covers five mandatory units and two optional units on the nutritional requirements of individuals with dementia and understanding the administration of medication to individuals with dementia using a person-centred approach. Carers attend our one-day Dementia Awareness course, complete seven workbooks in their own time, and are observed at least once while caring for a local client with dementia. If you have already attended the Consultus Dementia Awareness in-house course and completed the Level 2 Award in Dementia Awareness you can use this as a foundation to excel in this area of study.

Cost £195 (includes £57 fee to Pearson for registration and certification) and takes 6-9 months to complete.

Please contact the Consultus Care Training Centre if you require more information or would like to undertake any qualifications we offer.
