New Distance Learning Training Courses Available
Tissue Viability (Pressure Area Care)
As we age our skin becomes thinner and is more prone to soreness and damage, particularly if mobility is limited, dietary intake is poor or the Client is sitting or lying down for long periods.
The Tissue Viability Training Course looks at why and where pressure sores occur. It details the signs and symptoms of pressure sore development and the treatments available. Most importantly the pack provides information on pressure sore prevention.
End of Life Care
Caring for Clients at the end of their lives is a huge responsibility. Our trainers are often asked about palliative care. The new End of Life Care Training Course comprehensively covers this subject by detailing the role of the Carer and the need to provide person-centred support, whilst retaining the dignity of the Client at all times.
The course examines how Carers can meet the Client’s physical needs, such as pain, mouth care, personal hygiene and pressure area care, as well as the psychological and emotional requirements such as fear and anxiety. The stages of grief are detailed in the section on bereavement and loss and the course concludes by discussing sudden death, last offices (laying out) and registering a death.
The End of Life Training updates and replaces the Care of the Dying Training Course. Carers who have previously completed the Care of the Dying Training Course and wish to update their knowledge, can purchase the new course for a reduced cost of £5.
Distance Learning Training Course Special Offer!
The Distance Learning Training Courses cost £8 each or £14 for the Choice, Dignity & Diversity two-part Course.
Until the end of February 2012 any three Distance Training Courses (excluding the £14 Course) can be purchased at the same time for a reduced price of £21.
