Your Interview

Before we can find you work you must have a face to face interview either at our Kent head office or with one of our South Africa consultants. We may be able to arrange interviews for Registered Nurses at other locations including the West Country and the Midlands. Any work provisionally arranged in advance is dependent on a successful interview and other important checks.

First contact us, preferably by telephone on (01732) 355231; interviews will only be confirmed following a telephone conversation.

We try to make the registration process as quick and easy as possible but in healthcare protection of the vulnerable is of prime importance. Therefore, like any other reputable agency, we will do a number of checks before we register you, and it will be necessary to see a selection of the following*, preferably at the time of your interview:

Mandatory

Proof of identity, preferably a passport, EU identity card or photographic driving licence
Proof of right to work in the UK (if applicable)
Any valid driving licence (mandatory only if you intend to chauffeur our clients)
Your work history and any qualification certificates
National Insurance number if you have one (N.I. card or evidence of your N.I. number on a recent payslip, etc)
Proof of your current address (utility bills, statements, driving licence, etc). This can be an overseas address if you have just arrived in the UK.
A passport-size photo (x2 for Nursing & Daily Care Department interviewees)
Arrival air ticket (only if you wish to drive and do not have a UK, EU or “International” driving licence)
Names and contact details of two referees including your last employer of not less than 3-months duration, preferably (obligatory for nurses) to include any healthcare employers.
Details of any past criminal convictions or cautions

If you do not have a passport, EU identity card or photo driving licence we will need five forms of identification. Please call us for more details.

Other Documents

If you do not have another form of official identification we may need:

Birth certificate (and marriage certificate, etc, if you have changed your name)

A police check from any other country where you have lived, if available

And, if applicable

A recent health declaration (such a letter from your doctor)
Vaccination certificates
Training certificates, such as for Manual Handling, Management of Aggression and Food Hygiene

Trained nurses should also bring:

Qualification certificates
PREP folder
NMC pin

* Only original documents – not photocopies – are acceptable. Registered Nurses having interviews with one of our Regional Recruiters must bring photocopies of all documents as well as the originals as copying facilities may not be available. A full list of acceptable ID can be found at the CRB website.

If your interview is successful and you wish to continue with your application, you will need to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau/POVA check; this will be arranged directly after your main interview by a member of our CRB team. Please bring cash or a cheque to cover the cost of the government’s standard charge (currently £42.00 – this is less than you would pay with many agencies). Regrettably, the law no longer permits us to accept previously acquired disclosures, no matter how recently obtained.

Please arrive at least a half hour early to give you time to complete an application form and CRB disclosure application. Please note that the office may be closed between 1.00pm and 2.15pm. If you are having your interview with a Regional Nurse Recruiter she will contact you to arrange a time and venue.

Reliability is of great importance to our clients, and punctual attendance for your interview is a sign of your dependability. If you arrange an interview that you later cannot attend please call us as soon as possible to cancel or rearrange it. If you do not contact us to cancel your interview you may be denying work to another carer and delaying the start of care for an elderly person.
