Becoming a Consultus Live-in Carer - The Next Step

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Consultus Live-in Carer. By now you have probably read 'Becoming a Consultus Carer' and 'Frequently Asked Questions' and you are keen to make an application.

However, we take our responsibilities under the Care Standards Act 2000 and other legislation very seriously and as such we have strict procedures to follow. Therefore we do not offer anyone an interview without finding out more about him or her.

1 Your duties will include domestic work such as laundry, shopping, cooking and cleaning.
Are you willing and able to carry out these tasks? 		Yes

2 A carer is expected to help clients with personal care including bathing, dressing, washing & toileting.
Are you willing willing and capable of carrying out these duties?		 Yes

3 Many of our clients are hard of hearing, and have difficulty with strong accents.
Can you speak English well and be easily understood when you speak English?		 Yes

4 Are you aged 21 or over with a mature, responsible and compassionate personality? Yes

5 Are you in Britain or will you definitely be coming to Britain soon? Yes
No
6 Are you a British or EU citizen, or do you currently have a right to work in the UK as a self-employed person? (We cannot help those with a student visa or assist people to obtain visas or work permits) Yes

7 Do you feel confident about working independently within clients' homes? Yes

8 Are you willing and able to travel and live away from home for at least two weeks at a time? Yes
