Consultus Celebrates 45th Anniversary
Mrs Anne Stevens, the director of
Consultus, started her employment agency in 1962 with
the conviction that anyone in difficulties could be
helped, whatever their need might be. The response was
extraordinary and the requests from her private clientele
covered every domestic challenge.
Gradually, over the years, the care and nursing of the elderly, frail, and chronically and terminally ill, became the agency’s main occupation; and now, under her guidance, the company looks after many hundreds of people, keeping alive their dreams of living as independently as possible in the warmth and security of their own homes
Consultus is proud of facilitating
for many clients an uninterrupted care service lasting
a decade or more. One client lived to the grand age
of 108 and Mrs Stevens spoke to her on that birthday.
Nearly Five Decades of Service and
Success
Over the years, the company has
expanded to cover the whole of the British mainland.
Nowadays, in the course of a year, the firm will place over a thousand carers and nurses. Each one is carefully
selected; references taken up and a thorough police
check undertaken, to ensure that they are suitable to
be placed in positions of trust.
Many of our office staff have been with the firm for
over ten years, and most of our Care Consultants (the
professional advisers who match the needs of clients
with the abilities and expertise of carers) are experienced
nurses.
Mrs Stevens feels justified in claiming that we are
among the United Kingdom's premier residential care
and nursing agencies for the sick and elderly and we are privileged
to have received many appreciative letters
from clients who, thanks to our carers, have been
able to remain happily in their own homes.
Our service has been featured in favourable articles in The Times, The Daily Telegraph, and Daily Mail and we have also been interviewed and highlighted on BBC radio and television.
