Your Interview

Interviews are conducted by our Nurse Consultants at our Head Office in Kent or with one of our Nurse Recruiters located in the Midlands or South West.

You will be offered an interview if you have the appropriate skills, experience and qualifications; you will also have submitted your Curriculum Vitae, spoken to one of our Nurse Consultants and completed a screening questionnaie (please see Your Role as a Private Nurse and Nursing Job Requirements).

Interview Documentation

Prior to interview you will have been sent an application pack and will have returned to us:

  • Your completed application form
  • A completed CRB disclosure application form (regrettably, the law does not permit us to accept previously acquired disclosures at present, no matter how recently obtained)
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • A signed copy of our Contract for Services

You will be required to bring the following documents and information to your interview :

  • Proof of identity, preferably a passport, EU identity card or photographic driving licence
  • Proof of right to work in the UK (no work permits accepted)
  • A valid driving licence and insurance certificate (if applicable)
  • NMC PIN documentation
  • Membership card of any professional organisation, e.g. RCN, Unison
  • Your PREP folder with qualification certificates and certificates of any further training
  • National Insurance Number
  • Proof of your current address (utility bills, statements, driving licence, etc)
  • Immunisation record
  • Names and contact details of two professional referees, including your last employer of not less than 3-months duration
  • Details of any past criminal convictions or cautions
  • Cash or a cheque made payable to 'Consultus' for £50.00, to pay for an enhanced CRB disclosure and an Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) Audit First check

Our  Nurse Consultants need to see your original documentation. Nurses having interviews with a Regional Recruiter will need to bring originals, as well as photocopies, of all documents as copying facilities may not be available.

Interview Procedure

The interview will last about 2 hours and will be in two parts:

  1. The first part will be a formal discussion about your skills and experience and will also include a close look at your PREP folder, and a check of your documentation
  2. If you are successful,  at this stage you will proceed immediately to an induction which includes an introduction to the company and its services, NMC guidelines, Consultus' policies and procedures, the nursing records and timesheet
