A committee of MPs has published a report urging a review of the rules on mobility scooters, sparking national debate.
The Department for Transport (DfT) is currently asking for views on the regulation of mobility scooters. Ideas proposed include changing the legal classification of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs which would require people to undergo compulsory training, or an assessment, before being allowed to drive a mobility vehicle.
The House of Commons Transport Committee stated the need for more evidence and urged the Government to act on its conclusions..
