Rehabilitation Nursing

Recovering from an injury or stay in hospital can often be shortened by having a Consultus Nurse to assist you

If a period of rehabilitation is required following an injury or period of time in hospital then our Nurses can be of assistance with:

  • personal care
  • wound care
  • stoma care
  • medication
  • nutrition
  • promoting continence
  • mobility
  • physiotherapy exercises
  • procuring specialist equipment if needed
  • promoting independence
  • accompanying client on outings
  • reassurance and encouragement
  • companionship

Rehabilitation bookings may be from 4 days to 6 weeks and may be funded privately or by private health insurance (please check with your insurance company; see funding options).

Consultus may be able to help facilitate an earlier release from hospital or convalescent home. In this instance our Nurse will usually meet with you prior to your discharge home and receive a full handover from a Nurse who has been caring for you. You can then travel home together, if appropriate.

Following a successful period of rehabilitation with our Nurse, Consultus is always on hand to discuss alternative future care arrangements. The Nurse, if required, will then assist during the transition period following a changeover of care.
