Consultus Live in Nursing helps commissioners choose from the widest choice of appropriate options by facilitating a dependable home Nursing service. Together, we determine whether live in Nursing is the most appropriate and cost-efficient option for a Continuing Care service; we then provide a tailored, closely managed service that meets the needs of both the service user and commissioning organisation. The working hours, rates and conditions are generally the same as for Private Home Nursing.

Our Nurse Consultants and Nurses work closely with District Nurses, Social Care Managers, Locality Managers, Nurse Assessors and GPs throughout UK. 

In many cases our NHS-funded service users are people who need palliative or complex 24/7 Nursing care and where for psychiatric or other reasons it has been determined that the most appropriate environment in which to care for them is their own home. Sometimes we provide Nurses for respite care for one week in every 4-8 weeks, to give family Carers a well-earned break.

2. Short- or Long-Term Consultus Nurses for Residential Nursing/Care Homes

Consultus provides highly cost-effective Live in Nurses to Residential Nursing/Care Homes, situated anywhere in the UK and Channel Islands.

You may consider a Consultus Nurse if:

  • a member of staff is on maternity leave, annual leave or long-term sick leave
  • local agencies are unable to provide cover or are unreliable
  • continuity of care is important
  • overnight standby is required
