Carers are independent, self-employed agents responsible for their own tax and National Insurance contributions under Self Assessment.
What you Can Expect from your Carer
-
Carers are expected to work 7 days a week and be on duty for 10 to 12 hours in any 24 hour period. Breaks and working hours are mutually agreed between Client and Carer
-
Each Carer works and lives with their Client for up to two weeks, though this can be longer, by arrangement. Two weeks tends to be the desired length of time for a care assignment, as caring can be physically and emotionally demanding. We like to ensure that your Carers remain fresh and able to maintain a consistently high standard of care
-
In cases where care is ongoing, the outgoing Carer will give a face to face handover to the new Carer on the rota. This will ensure seamless, uninterrupted care
-
As part of a Client rota for care, Carers will often return again and again to the same Clients to give valuable continuity of service
Carers do need their own private bedroom and to be able to share meals as part of the family. It is standard practice for Clients to pay Carers' travel and basic living costs.
